We love every minute of interacting with our over 114,000 followers across all of our social media accounts. It's been an amazing year of sharing photos, videos, and comments about the Bull City. Here are some of our favorites from 2018.

We reached 70,000 fans in 2018! One of our most-liked images from the year was this impressive storm cloud over the city. It was taken by local drone photographer Estlin Haiss.
2019 is the year we'll celebrate our sesquicentennial, but our 149th birthday was pretty great too. Followers loved Major with his party hat and confetti.
It's our job to make sure you know all the fantastic places to eat, play, and experience — if we can point out a hidden gem or Durham staple along the way, all the better. We were glad to show off "The Cow Store" and a have a few tacos while we were at it :)
Let's not forget our fun wager with Chapel Hill for the Duke-UNC game.
Hey, @visitchapelhill. We heard there was an important basketball game happening tonight. How about whoever loses writes a nice poem about the other city? You in? #DukeVsUNC🏀— Discover Durham (@DurhamNC) February 8, 2018

We lost, but in the end, we wrote a wonderful poem about our neighbor. So in that sense, doesn't everyone win?
A dimly lit coffee shop ☕️ A stand-up bass player strums in the background 🎻 We put on sunglasses... because 😎 We step up to the mic 🎤— Discover Durham (@DurhamNC) February 9, 2018

The Duke Lemur Center likes to name its new baby lemurs after celebrities. We tagged Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker) on the off chance he might see his adorable namesake. Needless to say, we were thrilled with his reply.

The fifth annual Art of Cool festival was the best and biggest one yet. A highlight for many was Durham's Little Brother reuniting for a surprise performance. We were proud to capture the footage and share it with the world.
Durham’s Little Brother performed on stage for the first time in over a decade. They found out about the possibility to reunite just a few hours before the show and it was 🔥 #AOCFEST pic.twitter.com/ssiinX2KuF— Discover Durham (@DurhamNC) September 30, 2018
Instagram is our fastest growing account, closing in on 30,000 followers. If there's one thing that we've learned, it's that you all LOVE sunsets... and we love sharing your photos of them.
We also love sharing uniquely Durham events. If you haven't been to the Iron Pour, make sure you put it on your calendar next year. Make a mold so you can take home a unique piece of art.
Oh, Durham. We love how wonderfully weird you are. When we saw a video of people taking a baby alpaca named Xanadu for a walk, we had to share it.
If you follow us on Instagram, you also get access to fun social sweepstakes. We had our most popular sweepstakes ever during the early December snowstorm. The winners of these Runaway beanies were thrilled to win them – and they sold out at Runaway shortly thereafter.
If you're not already, make sure you follow us to keep up with the latest happenings in the Bull City.
