The Durham 150 Opening Celebration: What's in Store?

Posted by Discover Durham Staff on Mar 28, 2019 4:42:47 PM

After this week’s tragic event, with the utmost respect for those affected, Saturday will serve as a way for the community to be with one another in solidarity and commend the heroic actions of first responders.

The Opening Celebration will still take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m on Saturday, April 13, rain or shine (umbrellas are allowed).

Mayor Steve Schewel will open programming at 10 a.m. with remarks about the resilience of Durham and outpouring of community support. We encourage everyone to arrive early to observe the moment. #BullCityStrong stickers will be provided to all attendees in tribute to Durham's resilience and strength.

Parking is free at the North and South American Tobacco Campus parking decks. 2500 spaces are available.
